Austin Smith

Austin Smith, recipient of the 2014 Narrative Prize, is the author of the poetry collection Almanac, chosen for the Princeton Series of Contemporary Poets. In 2011 he was awarded a Henfield Prize in fiction. Born in Wisconsin, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a BA in English literature and received an MA from the University of California–Davis, as well as an MFA from the University of Virginia. A Wallace Stegner Fellow in fiction at Stanford University, he lives in a cabin near La Honda, California.
