David Wagoner

David Wagoner is considered the defining voice of the Pacific Northwest. The author of more than twenty poetry collections, he has received the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize and the Academy of Arts and Letters Award. Two works, Collected Poems 1956–1976 and In Broken Country, were nominated for National Book Awards, and his most recent collection is After the Point of No Return (Copper Canyon Press, 2012). Professor emeritus at the University of Washington, Wagoner has also written ten acclaimed novels, among them The Escape Artist, adapted for the screen by Francis Ford Coppola.
