Jennifer Egan, who has been called one of the most gifted writers of her generation, was born in Chicago in 1962 and raised in San Francisco. Educated at the University of Pennsylvania and St. John’s College, Cambridge, she is the author of four novels: The Keep, The Invisible Circus,Look at Me, and A Visit from the Goon Squad, winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction, and the LA Times Book Prize. She also wrote a short story collection, Emerald City. Egan was a fellow at the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library.
