John Freeman

John Freeman is a writer, a literary critic, the former president of the National Book Critics Circle, and the 2007 recipient of the James Patterson Pageturner Award. His works include How to Read a Novelist, The Tyranny of E-mail: The Four-Thousand-Year Journey to Your Inbox, and Tales of Two Cities: The Best and Worst of Times in Today’s New York (2014), which he edited. He teaches writing at the New School in New York City.
