Kirstin Valdez Quade

Kirstin Valdez Quade received her BA from Stanford University, where she later became a Wallace Stegner Fellow. Her story “Nemecia” won First Place in our Spring 2012 Story Contest and received the Narrative Prize in 2013. It was later included in the collection Night at the Fiestas (Norton, 2015), which won the National Book Critics Circle’s John Leonard Award for a debut book. Quade has also received the 2013 Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award and has been a Jones Lecturer in Fiction at Stanford.
