Lore Segal

Lore Segal’s work includes essays, translations, and children’s fiction and novels, most notably, Her First American, which received an award from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. The recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and grants from the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities, Segal has taught writing at Columbia University, Princeton, Bennington, Sarah Lawrence, the University of Illinois, and Ohio State, from which she retired in 1996.
