Maud Newton grew up in Miami and graduated from the University of Florida with degrees in English and law. Her story “When the Flock Changed” won the 2009 Narrative Prize, and her memoir “Conversations You Have at Twenty” won Second Place in Narrative’s Love Story Contest. The recipient of the Irwin and Alice Stark Short Fiction Prize from the City College of New York, she lives in New York City.
