Crow on Saccharine

Fady Joudah is the author of The Earth in the Attic, winner of the Yale Series of Younger Poets competition, and Alight (Copper Canyon Press, 2013). He translated the final three collections of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish’s work in The Butterfly’s Burden, a finalist for the PEN Award for Poetry in Translation. The son of Palestinian refugees, Joudah was born in Austin, Texas, and raised in Libya and Saudi Arabia. Since 2001 he has been a field member of Doctors Without Borders. Joudah lives with his family in Houston, where he is an emergency room physician.
