I really enjoyed reading this. There was a sense of expectation throughout that something was about to explode and she spoke of the relationship between the three of them with a rare understanding of confused adolescent emotions.
The story drew me in and held me there. I think the division of the text into episodes helped to do that--helped to keep me involved and wanting to keep reading. It also provided the opportunity for a change of mood and direction.
All in all a great story that I thoroughly enjoyed.
I too loved the suspense built. The confusing subject, adolescent desire, is handled with brilliance, and never once relies on cliche. The speaker, Natalie, has a distinctive voice.
