Lovely. For a few minutes I was utterly lost in the world you created, my heart beating along with Errol's. This is why I love fiction, the possibility of traveling to a place where I vicariously experience a life other than my own, one that is wholly different than mine, and yet reverberates with the same human desires. The imagery was so natural and effective, just right. It brought the town and the people of Guilford more fully alive. And oh my, those cicadas!

Magical. Masterful. At times funny and at times tragic. Nicely held together by the cicadas cycle and metaphor. Love the way this story was grounded in the gritty details.
