It’s not literally true, but the magazine does depend on a lot of work done for love by a handful of people who are quite busy apart from work on the magazine and on the efforts of a few hired professionals who give of themselves with a dedication and generosity that surpasses duty. We are a far-flung group, connected by the Internet, and the magazine is located everywhere we are—San Francisco, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Chicago, New York, New Orleans, St. Petersburg, London—and worldwide with the writers and readers who are part of Narrative. The small band of us publishing Narrative sometimes joke that we get the magazine out by working at the kitchen table at midnight. It’s not literally true, but the magazine does depend on a lot of work done for love by a handful of people who are quite busy apart from work on the magazine and on the efforts of a few hired professionals who give of themselves with a dedication and generosity that surpasses duty. We are a far-flung group, connected by the Internet, and the magazine is located everywhere we are—San Francisco, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Chicago, New York, New Orleans, St. Petersburg, London—and worldwide with the writers and readers who are part of Narrative.
