From The Testing of Luther Albright

An Audio Reading

by MacKenzie Bezos

MacKenzie Bezos read from her debut novel, The Testing of Luther Albright, at the Narrative Night in Seattle in November 2006. When asked by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer what inspired the novel, she said, “I started with Luther’s character. He intrigued me because of the idea of emotional secrecy. I have always been interested in the real-life small things that people withhold from each other with best of intentions. They can have such huge effects on marriages and intimacy.”
