Seattle 2006 - DVD

Narrative Night Readings

Digital publishing was on almost no one’s radar when we held this event in Seattle, not far from Amazon’s offices. At the event we were predicting a future that not many were interested in or willing to credit—a future in which books and periodicals would be ubiquitously delivered directly to readers via electronic reading devices. Here we are, five years later, and you may be viewing this page on your iPad or some other device. It’s a new world.

But art transcends the means of delivery. At the Seattle event we were blessed to hear MacKenzie Bezos read from her novel The Testing of Luther Albright, Charles D’Ambrosio read from his story “The Screenwriter,” and Rick Bass favor us with his story “Eating.”

In these recordings, you can enjoy the stories and also hear Carol Edgarian, Tom Jenks, and Rick Bass talk about the state of publishing and its future.

The recordings were made at our Autumn 2006 event in Seattle.
