His many awards include the poetry prize from the Pirate’s Alley Faulkner Society and the Lyric Poetry Award from the Poetry Society of America. He lives in Seattle, Washington.

Love

For the president’s arrival they shot
two dogs on the tarmac
I’m imagining sheepdogs
and then his long black limousine
(this was Reagan) poured forth
