Galileo after the Trial

Galileo sends a basket to his daughter:
a skein of red yarn, a soft quilt, a sack of Sienna lemons
he asks her to send back candied.
He likes to eat a piece every night to remind him
of home in Arcetri, of her slicing the lemons
into thin yellow wheels, pressing them to sweetness.
