Byron Russell is a poet and acupuncturist. He was born in Mississippi and earned degrees from the Omeiji College of Oriental Medicine in San Francisco and from the University of Chicago. A black belt in karate, Russell lives in Oakland, California.

A new one.
One afternoon she spit in the pitcher of drinks


Before serving an afternoon party.
She stood in the hallway and let the saliva run and drip
