Mrs. Fonss

A Story

by Jens Peter Jacobsen

The story is beautiful both because of and despite its "quaintness."

Luscious in its old world perfection. Makes me want to slip the constraints of time and fiction into the world of Mrs. Fonss and Avignon.

Jacobsen's penetrating insight into parent-child relationships are astonishing. I wish he were around to consult.
