A thought-provoking, and beautifully written poem. I especially like the "till the leaves" stanza. That is an image that will stay with me.

Does our connection with the universe console? In terms of mortality, for me, no (I wouldn't begin to attempt to speak for the author). But the continuity of which the author reminds me can help me to keep in perspective the ongoing awfulness of our nation's political plight.
