I read Villette many years ago and am glad it is not forgotten. Brontë's Jane Eyre is a romance; I read it six times between the ages of ten and sixteen, along with Little Women. Villette is an intellectual romance, and it is well worth reading, or re-reading.

Shortly after I read this, I picked up Villette at the library. I was a little intimidated by its size and language style, but I've come to enjoy reading it. Lucy and I have some shared emotions/experiences, which allows the book to capture my attention even more. Thanks for suggesting it!
