Heather Brittain Bergstrom was raised in a small farming town in eastern Washington. Her work is included in Falling Backwards: Stories of Fathers and Daughters, and she has published a chapbook entitled All Sorts of Hunger. Bergstrom’s story “Shallow Sea” was a finalist in Narrative’s Love Story Contest, “Celilo Falls” won Second Place in the First-Person Story Contest, and “Reading Henry James in the Suburbs” won First Place in the Fall 2010 Story Contest. A finalist for the Nelson Algren Award, she received an MFA from Chico State and lives in Northern California with her husband and two children.
