Teacher

Valzhyna Mort was born in Minsk, Belarus. She is the author of the collection Factory of Tears (Copper Canyon Press, 2008). In 2005 she was awarded the Crystal Vilenica poetry prize in Slovenia, and in 2008 the Burda Poetry Prize was awarded to her in Germany. In 2010 she received the Lannan Foundation Fellowship. Mort is a visiting poet at the University of Baltimore.
