Baird Harper, Second Place winner in Narrative’s 2025 Spring Story Contest, has had work included in Best New American Voices and New Stories from the Midwest. A collection of linked stories, Red Light, received the Barnes & Noble Discover New Writers Award, and his stories have also won the Raymond Carver Short Story Contest, the Nelson Algren Award, and the James Jones Emerging Writers Fiction Contest. Harper holds an MA from the University of Montana and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and teaches at the University of Chicago.
