Brent King, a finalist in Narrative’s 2025 Winter Story Contest, is a graduate of Texas Tech and the University of Texas Medical School and holds a Master of Medical Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He practiced emergency medicine for nearly fifteen years at the University of Texas Medical School and serves as professor emeritus at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He lives in Baltimore with his surgeon wife.
