Daniel Mason

Daniel Mason is a psychiatrist and the author of The Winter Soldier (Little, Brown, 2018); A Far Country, shortlisted for the James Tait Black Memorial Prize and the Northern California Book Award; and The Piano Tuner. His work has been translated into twenty-eight languages and adapted for opera and theater. A clinical assistant professor in the Stanford University Department of Psychiatry, he researches the subjective experience of mental illness and the influence of literature, history, and culture on the practice of medicine.
