David Quammen is a journalist and the author of numerous books, including The Song of the Dodo, Spillover, The Tangled Tree, and Breathless. A recipient of the Premio Letterario Merck and a Stephen Jay Gould Prize, among other honors, he received his undergraduate degree at Yale University and his graduate degree at Oxford. Quammen lives in Bozeman, Montana.
