When veteran producer, director, and writer Garry Marshall (1934–2016) teamed up with his daughter Lori Marshall—an accomplished author in her own right—laughter was never far behind. Together they collaborated on Garry’s biography, Wake Me When It’s Funny. Garry was the creator, writer, and producer of the beloved TV comedies Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, and The Odd Couple and the film director of Pretty Woman, The Princess Diaries, and Georgia Rule. As a playwright Lori has coauthored ten productions for children, including Cindy and the Disco Ball, The Root Beer Bandits, The Empress and Her New Clothes, and Thumbelina.
