Gbenga Adesina, winner of the 2020 Narrative Prize, is a Nigerian writer and the author of the debut poetry collection Death Does End at the Sea (University of Nebraska Press, 2025) and the chapbook Painter of Water, a meditation on intimacy in the face of violence. He lives in Brooklyn.
