Mya Guarnieri is a Tel Aviv–based writer and journalist who contributes regularly to publications in Abu Dhabi, Bethlehem, and India and for Al Jazeera. Her story “Hills Behind Us” was inspired by interviews conducted with former members of the South Lebanese Army living in Israel. Guarnieri received an MFA in the creative writing program at Florida State University.
