Nancy Burke, the author of the novels Undergrowth and The Box (2025), is also a poet, songwriter, psychoanalyst, and psychotherapy activist. She received her PhD from the Committee on Human Development at the University of Chicago and her psychoanalytic certification from the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis. She maintains a private practice of psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and consultation in Evanston, Illinois.
