Neha Chaudhary-Kamdar, winner of the 2023 Narrative Prize, grew up in Hyderabad, India. She earned an MFA from Boston University, where she won the William A. Holodnak Prize for Fiction, and a PhD from Northwestern University. A former Wallace Stegner Fellow, she teaches English to high school students and lives with her partner in Oakland, California.
