W. Andrew Ewell was born in Georgia and raised on a sailboat in the Caribbean. He has lived in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Maryland, and Minnesota, where he attended Carleton College. Current work includes a novel set along Caribbean and Atlantic ports in the early 1980s. A guitarist and music educator, Ewell now lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he also teaches creative writing.
