Two Poems

by Wendell Hawken

I'm moved by both poems, making light of frightening flesh.

"Tongue" makes me feel like I've bitten mine! Quick, sharp, exacting, and just for the moment it takes to read it, makes things a little more alive and colorful.

Unbelievable force couched in jeweled phrases. Since we live near each other, how I wish we could meet!
