Enjoyed your story immensely, Skip, as usual. It's a mix of stark realism with just a hint of southern grotesque. Actually it reminded me of Sam Shepard--although I know he's western. My favorite line: "For such a big kid at times he seemed without presence in the world at all . . ." It's been exciting being published alongside you in Narrative over the years. Take care.

I love the use of tension in this story. It was gripping. Thank you.

Lovely story. Such quiet intensity.
