by Lynn Freed

This is especially vital when it comes to preserving the power of quality pieces of literature created with complete disregard to political correctness. This essay lights a fire in the writer that will fuel the creation of raw, audacious works of art capable of punching the reader in the gut while simultaneously speaking to the soul.

A masterful piece of writing, thanks!

I love this essay, love its understated indictment of our shallowness, love its devastating ending. What a writing lesson. Thank you. I'm getting an MFA and I'd like to use it for my next critical essay.

Solid. Inspiring.

We would love to hear from you.
