Letters to a Young Writer

Carol Edgarian is cofounder and editor of Narrative Magazine. She is the author of the forthcoming novel Three Stages of Amazement and the best-selling novel Rise the Euphrates, recipient of the 1994 ANC Freedom Award and named best debut of the year by the Chicago Tribune. Along with Tom Jenks, she coedited The Writer’s Life, and her work has been widely translated and anthologized. Edgarian has taught in universities and privately, in San Francisco, where she lives with her husband and three daughters.
 
 

Lauren Kunze graduated from Harvard University in 2008 with a degree in English and American literature and language and a minor in neurobiology. She is deferring a graduate degree in England to work at a California-based start-up company and write.
