The Bewildered

(Fiction; MacAdam/Cage, 2005)

Maybe the adolescents of Peter Rock’s fourth novel are searching with the same everyday, garden-variety teenage resentment for a world less ordinary than the one breaking before them as they near the end of their high school years in Portland, Oregon. A separate breed with a common lust, “the affected” have been electrocuted almost to death.
