A Real Nice Baby

Tim walks by the window. Says I’m an ass man into his phone. Laughs with his mouth open. I have a baby in the middle of the night. She is blue at first. A whorl of hair. The nurse says breathe, girl. Tim has a waterbed. Drinks beers on his lawn. The baby has a big red face. Pukes white curds on my shoulder. I bite her fingernails. Tim’s mom has a stroke. Only smiles with half her mouth. Tim’s cat has kittens under the porch. He has no milk. Knocks on the front door. Presses his nose against the screen. Says that’s a real nice baby.
