Matthew Carey Salyer is the author of the poetry collection Ravage & Snare and the chapbook Lambkin and is an associate professor of English at West Point. A native New Yorker, he earned a PhD from the University of Connecticut.

    I moor my fists to the fixed
    continents. Bone unspools
    its musculature to the crush

    of atmosphere and the continents
