Two Poems


And it’s March and every day
the Earth leans toward the sun
a little more, like someone at a party, uncrossing and crossing
her legs, shifting her weight from her right hip
to her left to be closer
to the man on her left, his laughter and his smell, even though
he doesn’t really smell
like anything, she can sense
